Since my new room is still a work in progress, I had to move the DSL modem downstairs. I never had problem with PLDT myDSL's ZyXel P-600 when I had it set to router mode since my connection is PPPoE (crap right?)

When I moved the modem earlier, I might have swapped the RJ-11 from the extension line to the Line in port of the filter. Ergo, no IP address. I reset the modem/router. I forgot that this crappy PLDT do not give the bridge settings over the phone.

I called the technical support. I was given the instructions how to connect through PPPoE. I might have forgotten the username and password but it connected well. It is annoying to have PPPoE because it disconnects from time to time and I experience intermittent loss of connection.

I asked for a service call so an onsite technician will setup the bridging for me since they do not want to give the instructions how to set it to router mode. They said that they stopped such requests and I need to contact a private technician!!!! PUTANGINA!

Being resourceful, found some knowledge based articles to setup this crappy modem/router to work on bridge mode.

Setting crappy ZyXel P-600 to router mode via crappy PLDT myDSL connection:

1. Set your computer to static IP:
IP: 192.168.1.33
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1

2. Save.

3. Open a browser and access the gateway.

4. Login to the admin account.
Username: admin
Password: 1234

5. Click ignore to bypass change of admin password.
You will be redirected to the status page when bridge mode.
Take note of the VPI/VCI values

6. Go to Network > WAN > Internet Connection tab
Mode: Routing
Encapsulation: PPPoE
username: (ask the crappy PLDT)
Password: (ask the crappy PLDT)
Multiplexing: LLC
VPI: 0
VCI: 100

7. Click Obtain an IP Address Automatically

8. Click Apply

9. Go to Network > LAN > IP tab
IP: 192.168.1.1
Subnet: 255.255.255.0

10. Click Apply

11. Go to Netowrk > LAN > DHCP tab
DHCP: Server
IP pool: 192.168.1.100
Pool size: 50

12. Go to Network > NAT > General tab
Check Activate Network Translation
Check SUA Only

13. Click Apply.

14. Go to Maintenance > Tools > Restart tab.

15. Restart your modem.

12. Click Apply

Now, I will have 5 hours of sleep or less because I need to wake up early to attend the Body Jam class later and I spent 2 hours working on this connection. PUTANGINA talaga nila! Mga inutil! Mga bobo! Mga tamad!
